Soul Care for Busy Women
Do you believe it’s possible to practice soul care in this hustle and bustle world we live in?
Maybe you’ve tried slowing down for soul care but haven’t quite figured out this work-life balance thing.
For years I wondered if I was the only woman who struggled to balance life and work. If there were others, they sure weren’t talking much about it.
I’ve since come to realize that it takes a lot of bravery to share our struggles. It also takes a community of brave women supporting one other in order to succeed, and indeed, thrive.
That’s what prompted me to start a new series called, How She Does It — a conversation with women just like you, who are willing to pull back the curtain and share real hope from real life. We don’t have it all figured out, but we know that we are stronger together.
For the inaugural show, I had the honour of interviewing Dr. Barbara L. Peacock. Dr. Peacock is the author of Soul Care in African American Practice and founder of Barbara L. Peacock Ministries (est. 2013).
In our interview, Dr. Peacock and I chatted like old friends about what soul care looks like for today’s woman, whether work-life balance is possible, and her favorite spiritual giant to write about (it’s probably now who you think).
This conversation was life-giving in every sense of the word.
Not only did I walk away with practical steps to incorporate soul care into my busy life, but I also felt a sense of freedom to boldly walk the unique path God has mapped out for me.
I pray this discussion will bless you as much as it did me.
